Bridging the gap between entrepreneurs, researchers, educators and innovators

ENTREPRENEURS + RESEARCHERS + EDUCATORS + INNOVATORS

The Ent-r-e-novators project connects various actors and breaks down barriers.

E³UDRES² Ent-r-e-novators aims to drop the either-or-thinking pattern and advocate a strong interconnection between education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The project addresses the region’s needs in a variety of approaches: Futuring workshops, Hackathons, I Living Labs or citizen science research projects. Ent-r-e-novators bridge the know-do gap and move from a me to a we-culture. With the Ent-r-e-novators project, the E³UDRES² Alliance enhances its research capacity and aims to co-create a specific joint research strategy for the alliance. The project coordinated by E³UDRES²-member Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal kicked off on 01 October 2022 and will go until September 2025. Bringing together 6 partners of the E³UDRES² Alliance, its expected results consist of the development of joint strategies for the Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) dimension of E³UDRES², associated with the following transformation modules:

RD&I activities, lines, groups and networks
Sharing and gaining access to research infrastructures
Science, education and open innovation
Involvement of society and citizens in RD&I
Human resources for research and RD&I ecosystems

Cooperating for Excellence and Impact in Research & Innovation

The future of Europe requires more knowledge and scientific culture, ensuring access to science and education as an unalienable right for all. More science and a systematic democratization in the access to knowledge (open science) means more equal opportunities, more social mobility but also more social cohesion, and a new stimulus for entrepreneurial activities, which will lead to smarter and more sustainable regions. This project aims to further develop the E3UDRES2 Research & Innovation dimension, trying to promote inclusive and participative dialogues with our institutions and regions, and employing innovative and future-oriented co-creation methodologies and environments. Together with the transformation modules, Ent-r-e-novators set itself six objectives to reach:

⭐ Objective 1

Co-create a common strategy and agenda that unlocks our potential for excellence in Research and Innovation, to accelerate the transformation into a multi-institutional European Research and Innovation Centre for Smart and Sustainable Regions

⭐ Objective 2

Develop best practices and a strategy for pooling research infrastructures, expertise, data and resources and for collaborating with/getting access to other strategic research infrastructures

⭐ Objective 3

Develop structured support programmes aimed at empowering our scientific communities to fully embrace Open Science, Open Innovation, Open Education, Engaged Science and Engaged Education

⭐ Objective 4

Work to achieve a level playing field in terms of institutional strategies and policies for Human Resources for Research, from which we will be able to address bigger challenges, such as brain mobility, new career assessments and joint recruitment strategies

⭐ Objective 5

Develop a structured and integrated framework to seamlessly link all our R&I ecosystems and the E³UDRES² alliance’s knowledge triangle of education, research and innovation

⭐ Objective 6

Along our pathway to build a common R&I agenda, be connected and dialogue with peer Alliances and HEIs, HEI associations and advocacy groups, and policy-makers with a view to contribute with evidence based results to the co-creation of future EEA/ERA work programmes and to inform better policies
