E³UDRES² Change cornEr

The Change cornEr is one of the three internal research projects that have been developed within the E³UDRES² Alliance. It is part of the research network "Circular Economy".

ABOUT

The Change cornEr is a co-creation "space" (physical and virtual) in each of the six E³UDRES² institutions. The Change cornEr aims to bring together the scientific community, students, regional stakeholders, citizens, and the public in order to increase awareness of CIRCULAR ECONOMY in the different regions.

AIMS

Increase community awareness of the importance of circular economy, among the public and private sectors, academia, NGOs, civil society, and citizens

Improve stakeholder engagement for circular economy

• Develop concepts and measures for sustainable mobility / logistics and resource efficiency

Create new business models within a circular economy

What we do

The Change cornEr consists of researchers, stakeholders, students, and citizens who are regularly and actively engaging and discussing challenges, developing and co-creating innovative concepts, which are directly connected with the E³UDRES² regions. All challenges and concepts revolve around the general topics of sustainability and circular economy. Specifically, some of the topics that the Change cornEr is currently tackling are:

• Sustainable mobility

Material recovery

• Circular logistics

• Resource efficiency

• Waste management

Corner sessions

CornEr sessions are physical and virtual co-creation workshops, organized on different regional challenges related to Circular Economy.

The Physical Change cornEr can be found in the STPUAS campus, on the ground floor next to the cafeteria. Everyone is invited to put down their ideas, anytime!

Squaring the Circle

The "Squaring the circle" sessions are taking place regularly in the physical Change cornEr. You are welcome to pass by, and discuss with international experts in circular economy.

• Squaring the circle &

physical Change cornEr @ STPUAS

Since November 2021, the "Squaring the circle" events at STPUAS are in session. During those get-togethers researchers, stakeholders, students, and citizens discuss topics of circularity and sustainability. These session are open to all.

Some of the topics of the STPUAS Squaring the Circle sessions are:
• Barriers and enablers of sustainable mobility
• Sustainability
• Logistics with cargo bikes and bikes for busines (feat. Goodville)

In addition, in March 2022, STPUAS established its first physical Change cornEr, where students, and staff are directly engaged by participating in polls and contributing their opinions and ideas to circular subjects and questions. The physical Change cornEr at STPUAS is accessible during opening hours of the STPUAS campus.

• Lunch lectures @ UCLL

UCLL organises a series of lectures for students, staff, and guests on different aspects of circular economy.

Some of the topics of the UCLL Lunch lectures are:
• Sustainable mobility
• Circular food
• Circular business models
• Reuse of materials

During those 60-minute lectures you can listen to an expert in their domain (in English) while you enjoy a free lunch. Find out more here.

• Change CornER Lectures @IPS

Since January 2022 the IPS Change cornEr Lectures are dedicated to identifying real and regional problems, in order to evaluate them and create new business ideas from a circular economy perspective.

Some of the topics of the IPS Change cornEr lectures are:
• Circular Economy in the Municipality of Setúbal
• New and innovative circular economy projects
• Circular Economy in the Wine Sector: Opportunities and Difficulties

The IPS Change cornEr lectures are in a hybrid format and open to all. The spoken language is Portuguese.

• Change CornER Seminars @UPT

In April 2022 UPT kickstarted its very own Change cornEr seminars, which included 18 students-participants. The main topic of the discussion was on Circular Economy in our lives and the students were invited to express their views and experiences.

The Change cornEr seminars at UPT will focus on the following topics:

Material recovery
• Recycling best practices
Photo voice challenges

The Change cornEr seminars @ UPT are taking place onsite in the lecture rooms of the Politehnica University of Timisoara. The spoken language is Romanian.
