Introducing Pamela Nolz, a Senior Researcher at the Carl Ritter von Ghega Institute for Integrated Mobility Research, who has played a key role in shaping collaborative research within the E³UDRES² alliance. Between 2020 and 2023, she led a diverse research network of up to fifteen members from across the alliance’s partner institutions, strengthening interdisciplinary exchange and cross‑border collaboration.
What is your role within E³UDRES²?
In the first three years of the alliance, I had the pleasure to head the research network “Circular Economy" and work with researchers from the now nine European partner countries. Our network's objective is the intensive interconnection of the involved higher education institutions and the collaboration in research activities – for example, in developing research proposals or the integration of society and the business sector.
Is there a highlight that you remember fondly?
Yes, one of the highlights was definitely the first personal meeting of the research network within the framework of the Research Living Lab in Portugal. Apart from getting to know each other personally, we visited labs and campus facilities on site and engaged in direct exchange with stakeholders at the Portuguese authorities, which was of great value to us. After all, these fruitful meetings resulted in new project ideas in areas such as waste management and tourism.
