Call for Papers: 13th International Workshop on Open Education & Science Practices 2026

The Digital and Distance Education Department of the Politehnica University of Timișoara (UPT), together with E³UDRES², the Accelerate Future HEI project and with the support of IEEE Romania, invites researchers, educators and innovators to contribute to the 13th International Workshop on Open Education & Science Practices.

The event will take place on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 10:00–15:00 EET (09:00–14:00 CET), in a hybrid format, welcoming participants both online via Zoom and on-site at the K1 Room – UPT Conference Center, Timișoara.

Theme 2026: Digital and Emerging Technologies in Education and Science

Under the theme “Digital and emerging technologies in education and science”, presentations will focus on how digital technologies, open science, and open educational resources are applied in everyday life, especially in the context of:

  • universities

  • research projects

  • general education

Call for Papers | Submissions until 1 March 2026

Short paper submissions are open until 1st of March.

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts (2–4 pages) on educational achievements, research results and recent developments related to education, science, and open practices. Authors are asked to provide a concise and informative title, including relevant keywords as well as a brief summary.

Papers may be presented in person in Timișoara or online.

All contributions are subject to rigorous peer review, and accepted papers will be published in open-access format by the Politehnica University Publishing House.

Contributions highlighting:

  • achievements of EU projects

  • innovative open practices at all levels of education

  • digital and emerging technologies in education and science

  • conceptual papers

are highly encouraged.


You can submit your manuscript by March 1, 2026.
