Hosted by the Politehnica University Timisoara in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Network for Smart and Sustainable European Regions (E.I.N.S.), the E.I.N.S. Open Lecture #7 took place to discuss the theme "Internet of Things (IoT) in smart and sustainable cities." The event, held entirely online, explored how innovation and research impact the strategies of smart and sustainable cities. It featured insights from Austria and Romania, showcasing best practices in utilizing IoT for sustainable development and urban freight transport.
Key presenters included Dr. Alexandra Anderluh, Senior Researcher at the Carl Ritter von Ghega Institute for Integrated Mobility Research, University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten, Austria; Prof. Dr. Eng. Radu Vasiu, Director of the Institute of Digital Transformation, Politehnica University Timisoara, Romania; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Silviu Vert, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, Politehnica University Timisoara, Romania.
The workshop facilitated an insightful exploration of challenges and opportunities for joint activities across regions, contributing to the broader goal of improving entrepreneurial and innovative education. More than 100 attendees were present at the event who actively engaged in discussions.
The E.I.N.S. Open Lectures series, a project in collaboration with the E³UDRES² alliance, aims to enhance entrepreneurial education, identify challenges and opportunities for joint activities across European regions, and promote collaboration between universities and industry.
