After a long selection process, the E³UDRES² Alliance is delighted to announce that Fulda University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Saxion University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands) have been selected as new partners to join the E³UDRES² consortium. Starting out as new Associated Partners and becoming full members of the consortium by the end of 2023, the E³UDRES² network already benefits from the large circle of new experts and thus from new innovative power in terms of teaching and research.
The past months clearly showed that the orientation of E³UDRES² towards a smart and sustainable future has proven attractive for other higher education institutions all over Europe: The E³UDRES² Executive Board received more than 20 requests to join the E³UDRES² Alliance by other academic institutions. Ultimately, Fulda University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Saxion University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands) stood out in the selection process – with these renowned institutions joining, the E³UDRES² alliance will comprise a total of eight higher education institutions, representing then approximately 92.500 students and 10.300 staff members. As regulations only allow the new institutions to join the E³UDRES² alliance after the current project period has ended in September 2023, Fulda UAS and Saxion UAS will start out joining E³UDRES² as Associated Partners, but will already attend Work Package and Board meetings to get to know the processes and team members in E³UDRES².
While the onboarding of the new partners is still in progress, some first personal exchanges have already been possible: An initial in-person meeting of some representatives of the new members has already taken place during the on-site E³UDRES² meetings at Vidzeme UAS in Latvia at the beginning of April, and representatives from Fulda UAS have already visited St. Pölten UAS in March.

The successful expansion of the E³UDRES² consortium is just one of many aspects of the previous performance of the alliance: Cohesion and collaboration between E³UDRES² institutions have been further consolidated and strengthened through projects and joint events, and various E³UDRES² activities have taken place successfully, sharpening the profile and direction of the European University Alliance.
