The "XR Show Spotlight Heritage Timisoara//Timisoara 2023 endlessly" held at the UPT Technical Museum / Experimentarium TM showcased a groundbreaking approach to discover Timișoara's heritage in the digital domain. Two days of interactive experiences, including physics and chemistry experiments, guided and virtual tours, Timișoara in VR, augmented reality treasure hunts, and more unfolded, catering to young people. Besides experiencing Timisoara through virtual and augmented reality applications, the international projects, including E³UDRES², were presented, highlighting UPT's active involvement.
Distinguished guests, including His Excellency Mr. Hiroshi Ueda from the Embassy of Japan in Romania, Mr. Raimar Wagner from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Romania and Moldova, and Her Excellency Mrs. Willemijn van Haaften from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Romania, enriched the occasion with their presence. Mr. Horia Gligor, museum curator, also presented MECIPT 1 (Electronic Computing Machine of the Polytechnic Institute Timisoara), the first alphanumeric calculator in Romania's university environment.
The event featured numerous activities dedicated to the students and to the city's young and curious minds. Spotlight Heritage Timișoara / Patrimoniul sub reflectoare is a digital cultural initiative of the Politehnica University of Timișoara realized in partnership with the National Museum of Banat, part of the Cultural Programme Timișoara 2023 European Capital of Culture. Cultural project co-financed by the Center for Projects of the Municipality of Timișoara, Timiș County Council, Ministry of Culture, Romania, EEA and Norway Grants.
