At the beginning of April, St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences welcomed two groups of international E³UDRES² students to its campus in Austria. Students from Politehnica University Timișoara in Romania and the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences visited the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, strengthening the ties between the partner institutions.
The trip of three Romanian students was made possible by the E³UDRES² Alliance as a reward for their performance in an online course: As part of a teaching-cooperation project called SHOC (Share Your Own Culture), implemented by Dawn Kremslehner (St.Pölten UAS) and Claudia Stoian (Politehnica University Timisoara), the students had to create videos highlighting aspects of their local traditions. The winning students were awarded a trip to the respective partner country. Through this initiative, the Romanian students got to enjoy Austria for a few days. During their time in St. Pölten, the students took the opportunity to dive into the local culture, explore the city, and even recorded an episode for the E³UDRES² podcast UniWaves.
Fostering international engagement
Just one week later, students from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences participated in a visit to St. Pölten UAS as well. Their stay at the university included a campus tour, an introduction to the E³UDRES² alliance, and several themed sessions led by St. Pölten UAS lecturers. Topics ranged from health and nutrition to media and communication, providing the students with a multi-disciplinary snapshot of the university’s expertise. With many new impressions, the students were able to return home with a great new experience made.
