On 15 November 2021, Frédérique Vidal, the French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, met with representatives from all 41 European University Alliances to discuss the further development of the European Higher Education Area. During the virtual meeting, which was attended by Hannes Raffaseder to represent the E³UDRES² Alliance, potentials and possible risks of the European University Initiative as well as the next steps to further develop and anchor the alliances were examined.
This marked the first meeting of a national minister with the coordinators of all 41 European University Alliances. It also acted as the first informal meeting in order to prepare the french presidency of the council.
