From 06-10 May 2024, an International Staff Training Week took place in Vilnius, Lithuania at Vilnius Kolegija. For the first time, it was organized by Vilniaus Kolegija in partnership with the Research Community of Practice of EURASHE, an associated partner of E³UDRES². The EURASHE Research Community of Practice was initiated in April 2022 and unites not only staff from higher education institutions, but also a range of other stakeholders. The Research Community of Practice aims to serve as a platform for capacity building in areas such as research, research management and future development of the European Research Area, particularly from the perspective of Professional Higher Education.
The International Staff Training Week provided a platform for learning and sharing best practices as well as for collaboration and networking among members of higher education institutions from Europe and beyond. Within this context, Thomas Berger from Fulda University of Applied Sciences presented the EU research funding strategy of Fulda University of Applied Sciences, explained the process of developing a EU funding strategy and elaborated on the role of E³UDRES² within this context.
In small groups, 37 participants then experienced how to successfully conduct a SWOT analysis as a starting point for developing a EU research funding strategy. During this very interactive collaboration, the importance and special features of European University Alliances, i.e. having a network of higher education institutions collaborating on all levels, were once again reflected.
