Shaping Education: E³UDRES² Joins Europe's Future Skills Dialogue

Europe Direct Center in Fulda organized an event on 27th of May, bringing different groups of people together to discuss the future skills needed for Europe. The Erasmus Creative Workshop event, with the theme of "Imaginative, Practical and Open-minded!", took place on a Tuesday afternoon. The workshop aimed to address the topic of future skills in the context of Europe and beyond.

The event started off with an introductory talk,"What are future skills?", followed by a panel discussion consisting of representatives from the Erasmus-Internship office, E³UDRES² Student Board, the International Office of Fulda UAS, and others. Each person had the chance to share their personal experience of going abroad, their involvement with European educational initiatives, and how European programmes can help develop and advance the skills needed for the future of Europe.

Participants at the workshop were able to get to know the E³UDRES² alliance and listen to a panel discussion, among other activities.

Developing skills through cross-border collaboration

During the panel discussion, Anjum Anjum, a member of the E³UDRES² Student Board, took the opportunity to share her experience within the E³UDRES² alliance. She emphasised the importance of collaborating with an international team comprising a variety of experiences, academic backgrounds and ideas, and explained how this helps individuals to develop skills such as intercultural competence.

Participants were then given the task of reflecting on and expressing their thoughts creatively on the topic of future skills. This was achieved through group work led by "Science of Singularies", a laboratory for arts based research and demogratic imagination practices. The attendees were taken on a creative journey; Working in groups of four to five, they explored the topic of knowledge acquisition and were able to express their thoughts on the future of Europea in a creative and poetic way.

The final item on the agenda was set aside for an exchange between the participants and partner organisations, including the E³UDRES² alliance. Representatives of E³UDRES² shared information about the alliance, its vision, the opportunities available, as well as the skills that can be gained through its various offers. With a delicious buffet provided, participants could ask individual questions and share their experiences in a relaxed setting. The event was a success, raising awareness of European initiatives such as the E²UDRES² alliance.
