The E³UDRES² Alliance is one of 50 European University Alliances in Europe - an initiative launched by the European Commission, indicating excellence in the field of higher education.

Together as E³UDRES², the institutions are able to pool knowledge, core competences and skills of all their staff and students. With the power of all the individual institutions united, E³UDRES² is able to actively shape and further develop not only its individual institutions, but also the regions they are located in.

Meet the E³UDRES² Institutions

The E³UDRES² European University Alliance is comprised of nine higher education institutions: A combination of unique, scientific universities and universities of applied sciences (UAS). All E³UDRES² institutions are ambitious, flexible, small or medium-sized universities (<30,000 students) and located in a small or medium-sized European city (<250,000 inhabitants) of one of the smaller European countries (<20 million Inhabitants). While being strongly anchored in their surrounding environments, the E³UDRES² institutions never lose track of international trends and are well-connected within the European Higher Education Area.

Saxion University of Applied Sciences is the biggest institution within the E³UDRES² Alliance.

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, located in the city of Valmiera, is an essential part of the aspirational Vidzeme region.

Focussing on new learning approaches, innovation and entrepreneurship, Jamk UAS is getting its students ready for the future.

UCLL UAS, the "Moving Minds" University, strongly focuses on their students' wellbeing.

Fulda UAS is characterized by their strong research focus and their ability to award independent doctoral degrees in profile-forming areas.

St. Pölten UAS leads the E³UDRES² Alliance and is a key player in the domestic higher education landscape.

As the southernmost institution within E³UDRES², the Polytechnic University of Setúbal educates more than 7,000 students employs about 800 staff members.

Hungary's predominant higher education institution in the field of life sciences.

Fully engaged in E³UDRES² activities, currently holding the status of Associated Partner due to restricted access to EU funding.

With a history of over more than 100 years, Politehnica University of Timisoara provides education on undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels.

In November 2024, St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences once again gave away the Gender & Diversity Award, aiming to honor outstanding final theses dealing with topics related to gender and diversity issues. For the second time, the award also included a designated E³UDRES² category.

What about the numbers in E³UDRES²?

E³UDRES² is an acronym for Engaged and Entrepreneurial European (3xE = E³) University as Driver for European Smart and Sustainable (2xS = S²) Regions. Sounds more complicated than it really is - if you say E³UDRES² out loud, you would just say it as "EUDRES" (sounds like you-dress), without any numbers involved.
