AI tools and chatbots are becoming essential in the digital workforce, supporting tasks from legal research to customer service. As their presence grows, so do the questions: Who trains and guides these systems? What new roles and skills will be needed to ensure their responsible and effective use? And how will this shift impact people, workplaces, and society at large?

As we explore the future of work, it’s crucial to design collaborative structures where human teams and AI agents complement each other’s strengths. This is especially relevant for regions like Lower Austria, where AI can help bridge urban and rural divides by enabling more inclusive access to services, education, and innovation. The challenge lies in shaping a regional workforce that not only adapts to AI but actively co-creates with it, preserving local identity while embracing digital transformation.

Expect late-night brainstorming sessions, high-energy collaboration, and new friendships formed along the way. And remember, this isn’t (just) for coders—it’s an open-to-all event, where any skill set is welcome. Come with your passion and leave with unforgettable memories!

Hackathon Timeline & structure

Participants will arrive at their local hub on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, where the Hackathon officially starts in the afternoon. After a good night's sleep in a hotel near the event location (02. - 03.12.2025), the intensive 24-hour problem-solving sprint begins in the morning. The event officially ends after the presentation of the winners in the afternoon on 4 December 2025.

⚠️ Important: There will NOT be a second hotel night, as the second night (03. - 04.12.2025) will be spent entirely at the event location. Teams will work throughout the night, collaborating, prototyping, and refining their ideas, culminating in the final pitches and presentations on 4 December 2025.

The Hackathon is intensive and there is no specific time set aside for sleep - it's a time for passion, creativity, and teamwork. The goal: presenting a concrete solution that contributes to “Connecting Europe by Shaping Regional Identities."
