The Open Innovation Hub (OIH) for Agrifood at MATE– Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences is one of nine OIHs in the E³UDRES² alliance.
The primary aim of the innovation hub is to create connections across the agrifood system to stimulate new ideas and find answers to the biggest agricultural challenges.
Its experts are dedicated to identifying promising ideas, linking top talents, and opening up unique opportunities to drive change in the food value chain. By leveraging its vast network of professionals across multiple segments of the agrifood sector, the Hub has the ability to effectively accelerate the implementation of innovative ideas.

The Hub supports the effective management of intellectual property, ensuring that research outcomes are protected, strategically positioned, and prepared for utilization. It also delivers consultancy and expert advisory services, assisting partners in translating research-based knowledge into practical, market-ready solutions.
The Hub has developed a structured process to identify and advance promising key technologies, systematically assessing their development potential and defining targeted strategic steps to strengthen intellectual property positioning, foster industrial collaboration, and support successful market progression.
With the foundation MATE (Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences), one of the largest agricultural-focused, multi- disciplinary higher education institutions in Europe was established on 1 February 2021.
