The UPT Excellence Awards Gala 2025 marked an important moment for the E³UDRES² Alliance, as the event included, for the first time, a dedicated E³UDRES² Award of Excellence among its official award categories. The distinction reflects the growing strategic role of the Alliance within the development vision of Politehnica University of Timisoara (UPT) and its long-term commitment to European cooperation, digital transformation and internationalisation.
Held in a year of strong institutional significance, the Gala brought together academic staff, researchers, students, alumni and partners, celebrating excellence across education, research, innovation and community engagement. The presence of a dedicated E³UDRES² award within this framework underlined the Alliance’s integration into UPT’s broader strategy for shaping the future of European higher education.
Important contributions to the digital foundations of E³UDRES²
The E³UDRES² Award of Excellence in Internationalisation was awarded to Senior Lecturer, PhD, Eng. Andrei Ternauciuc, in recognition of his sustained contribution to the digital and collaborative foundations of the Alliance. His work has played a key role in advancing platforms and frameworks that support cooperation across E³UDRES² partner universities. A central element associated with this contribution is Arena, the federated digital platform of the E³UDRES² Alliance. Designed to support collaboration in education, research and innovation, Arena reflects the Alliance’s ambition to build connected, engaged and entrepreneurial European universities. The platform builds upon expertise developed at UPT in digital education and learning technologies, extending it to a shared European ecosystem.
In his remarks, Andrei Ternauciuc highlighted E³UDRES² as a collective and forward-looking endeavour, made possible through the involvement of academic staff, technical teams, students and institutional leadership across the Alliance. He also encouraged continued engagement in joint research and educational initiatives, emphasising the long-term impact of collaboration within E³UDRES².
