Exhibition “Learning for Challenging Times” in Latvia

The exhibition was created as part of the “Learning for Challenging Times” conference organized by the European university alliance E³UDRES². The conference was part of the E³UDRES² Autumn Summit 2026, which took place in Riga and Valmiera from October 19 to 23. At the conference, researchers, educators, practitioners, students, and regional stakeholders shared their experiences on evidence-informed educational innovation, challenge-based learning, and new models of collaboration that connect higher education with the field of work.

A total of 38 exhibition posters showcased the work of researchers and collaboration partners from various European higher education institutions, revealing how education can respond to the challenges of today’s society and promote regional development in the future.

In the posters you will find:

  • Research results on challenge-based learning and its impact;

  • Evidence-informed approaches to learning in uncertain or rapidly changing contexts;

  • New collaborative learning formats linking universities of applied sciences and regional stakeholders;

  • Studies on learner resilience, motivation, and talent development;

  • Evaluations of co-creation processes in education;

  • Data-driven insights into regional learning ecosystems;

  • Comparative studies of innovative learning formats across Europe;

  • Research-supported “wild ideas” for the future of learning.

The exhibition encourages people not only to explore the research findings but also to consider their practical applications, creating new initiatives and opportunities for collaboration in the Vidzeme region.

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences is a member of the European university alliance E³UDRES². The alliance brings together universities from nine European countries, as well as six associated universities, to jointly develop innovative educational solutions, strengthen research, and promote collaboration with regions.

The exhibition reflects the essence of this collaboration - the exchange of knowledge, shared learning, and the transformation of ideas into practical solutions that can contribute to both the development of higher education and society as a whole.

Let these posters inspire you to get into action, and start shaping our region(s), in collaboration with students, ViA and other partners.
