Monitoring and assessment of territorial impacts of public policies via a WEB-GIS platform

Development of an innovative methodology for monitoring and evaluating the impacts of public policies supported by a WEB-GIS platform to be built and the respective analytical information system. The evaluation methodology will be developed focusing on the Operational Program for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources (PO SEUR - 2014-2020) and will be based on the analysis of implemented projects, available statistical data and qualitative data from interviews to be carried out.

Conceptualising Cross-Border Regions in the European Union: From Covidfencing to Constitutionalisation’

The project intends to illuminate the necessity to regulate CBRs in EU law and to analyse critically whether this would be a suitable means for ensuring their effective functioning and resilience in future crises. TIA CBC - Territorial Impact Assessment for Cross-Border Cooperation Europe'- (ESPON Tender 2017/S 234-486395)

The objective of this activity is to develop and test a methodology specifically tailored to assess ex-post territorial impacts of CBC programmes. The methodology will allow policy makers and practitioners to obtain evidence on the territorial impact of CBC programmes and help on developing better-informed cross-border policies. The activity will also improve understanding of the data needs to carry out ex-post territorial impact assessment of CBC programmes.

Collecting solid evidence to assess the needs to be addressed by Interreg cross-border cooperation programmes

This study identifies the main obstacles and potential (needs) for development and growth in cross-border regions. The most significant needs, which are suitable and affordable for Interreg programmes, are mapped through a set of indicators built-up at a territorial NUTS3 level. The database reports 25 indicators, which allow for comparisons between the 62 border regions, of which 45 are land and 17 are maritime border regions.

Territorialising Resilience: Transforming Europe for an Age of Crisis [TERRES] (2023/S 033-095518)

The European Research Project “Territorialising Resilience: Transforming Europe for an Age of Crisis” aims to develop a concept on ‘territorial resilience’ and an associated policy framework alongside the pan-European analysis of territorial trends at the regional scale. The project is going to develop a set of practical indicators to index and map the current absorptive, adaptive and transformational resilient governance capacities of European regions.

Promote the Exchange of Best Practices of Cross-border Cooperation among Border Stakeholders in Europe

Our first objective for this project is to collect useful first-hand insights from a re-invigorated Border Focal Point Network community. Our second objective is to continue on the upward trajectory that we have been on in terms of page views and membership of the Border Focal Point Network. We must continue to spread awareness of the community among national and local policymakers, private sector actors, NGOs, academics and so forth, for whom cross-border integration matters.

Preparatory Action "New European Bauhaus Knowledge Management Platform" - Role: Project Member

Computational Social Science for Policy (CSS4P)

We live in an era of unprecedented data, digital footprints created every day by sensors, smartphones, internet, social media, and administrative systems. Digital trace data can be processed using computational methods to model collective behaviours and describe aspects of our society that are already present but not yet captured or quantified.
