The Master's program currently in development centers around the design and implementation of gamification applications within extended realities to enhance various fields, including healthcare, smart industries, and education.
Combining gamification, didactics, and game technologies
Current advances in technologies such as extended reality (XR) or artificial intelligence (AI) are bringing massive changes to the way we learn and acquire new skills. While the development of XR applications in simulated or real environments for training, therapy, education, or maintenance purposes has long since begun, there is currently a lack in specialised master’s programmes combining aspects of gamification, didactics, and game technologies.
All participating institutions share common expertise in game and XR development as well as in several of the potential fields of application, such as health, smart industries, or education. To bundle their competencies, the consortium intends to design a joint master’s of science programme (EMJM) for computer science students focusing on new XR gamification-based learning applications that prepare graduates to develop innovative products for future markets.
