Join the E³UDRES² Centre of Excellence (CoE) Business Modelling for Managing Sustainability in a Circular and Climate-Neutral Economy and contribute to the Theory in Practice Conference, taking place in Finland on 24-25 March 2027 in a hybrid format.
Have you ever imagined that your student project could be presented at an international conference? Thanks to a new initiative led by Thierry Tartarin, researcher at Saxion University of Applied Sciences and coordinator of the E³UDRES² Centre of Excellence for Business Modelling, students across the E³UDRES² alliance have the opportunity to do exactly that.
In an interview, Thierry Tartarin shared the vision behind this unique collaboration with the Theory in Practice Conference 2027, which aims to give students and early-career researchers a platform to share their work, receive expert feedback, and engage with an international academic community.
Share Your Work with Europe
Most academic conferences are primarily designed for experienced researchers. This initiative takes a different approach by actively encouraging participation from students and junior researchers.
Whether you are a first-year bachelor's student, a master's student, or nearing graduation, your contribution is welcome. The focus is not on academic seniority but on sharing original work, demonstrating research excellence, and connecting with researchers and educators from across Europe.
The organisers hope to receive at least ten paper submissions from each E³UDRES² partner institution.
A Student-Friendly Conference Experience
One of the most distinctive features of this initiative is its supportive and formative review process.
Unlike traditional academic conferences, where papers are simply accepted or rejected, participants will have the opportunity to submit an initial version of their paper between September and November. Reviewers will then provide constructive feedback, allowing students to improve their work before the final submission deadline in January.
This approach helps participants strengthen both their research and academic writing skills while gaining valuable experience in scholarly communication.
What Can You Write About?
Students from all disciplines are encouraged to participate.
The E³UDRES² mission focuses on strengthening regional development across Europe. Therefore, submissions should include a reflection on the value their topic creates, whether environmental, economic, or social.
Participants are encouraged to consider questions such as:
Who benefits from the proposed ideas or research?
What type of value is being created?
How can the work contribute to smarter and more resilient regions?
