E.I.N.S. Open Innovation Hub
The E.I.N.S. Open Innovation Hub for Digital Technologies & Advanced Manufacturing at Politehnica University Timisoara aims to intensify talent management activities to fill the knowledge and digital skills gap of various specializations engineers (mechanics, mechatronics, robotics, electrotechnics, electronics, energetics, computer science, civil engineering, chemical engineering etc.).
The Hub scope is to create “bridges of knowledge” via private-public partnerships and collaborations between the different local and regional stakeholders from education, research-development field, industry, services and logistics fields, and local/regional authorities for the development of programmes, capacities, infrastructures, projects and initiatives which will contribute to the accelerated digital transformation of organizational systems.
In this context, experts from the Politehnica University of Timisoara community (including alumni experts), will act as catalysts and facilitators of all Hub’s initiatives. In addition, the Hub's action plan will focus on digital challenges and problem-based learning approaches (supported by intensive processes of knowledge, innovation and technology transfer) among different stakeholders, to make industry sectors and stronger and more resilient services in the future.
The Digital Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing Hub is in a strategic alliance with the following E.I.N.S. hubs:
The Hub is part of the project E.I.N.S., the E³UDRES² Entrepreneurship and Innovation Network for Smart and Sustainable European Regions, funded by the EIT HEI Initiative. E.I.N.S. promotes that results from teaching and research contribute to new marketable products and services through business start-ups and other forms of knowledge transfer.
The talent management philosophy of the Hub is to create a database with local/regional experts and to support the development of combine soft skills, and knowledge for hard skills and thus, promotes the creation and functioning of the Tech Talent Accelerator, an active unit of the Hub that contribute to the flexibility, agility and versatility of employees’ skills.
The OIH develops projects based on public-private partnership/collaboration (with local/regional stakeholders’ involvement) which accelerate knowledge, innovation and technology transfer to economic organizations in the area. Mentoring, coaching and buddy schema are generally used together with technical-consulting contracts for satisfying industrial partners’ requirements.
The OIH pays special attention to the development of leadership and entrepreneurial skills, with a focus on Digital Leaders, Green Leadership, Entrepreneurial Leaders, as well as women in STEM and in Entrepreneurship.

Based at the Politehnica University Timisoara (UPT), the E.I.N.S. Open Innovation Hub on Digital Technologies & Advanced Manufacturing is led by Vlad Mihăescu.
UPT and fonduri-structurale.ro specialists are preparing 341 students who have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to open a business. The best 26 business plans are being funded up to 60,000 euros.
The general objective of the SUS Rural project is to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the western region to combat poverty and the socio-economic integration of people belonging to vulnerable groups.
InoHub comes to the aid of students with a mechanism to support, develop and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in the university environment, regardless of the form of studies or the education program they are following.
The project is led by a group of experts of UPT and is financed from the structural funds budget in Romania, aiming to improve doctoral programs by including sessions aimed at developing human capital, developing and providing complementary courses, and more.

The launch takes place during the 10th edition of the International Workshop Open Education Week 2023, organized by the Politehnica University of Timisoara, through the ID/IFR and e-Learning Center with the support of the EDEN Europe and IEEE Romania associations, during the Open Education Week 2023, supported by Open Education Global.
